Gordon Schaub and John Massey will be taking over the helm for the 2008 Bond Committee. Both chairs bring years of experience and expertise to the committee.
Gordon worked for
over 40 years with the YMCA, conducting numerous fundraising and
volunteer campaigns. Gordon has a clear vision of what it will take
for Scottsbluff to become a progressive community, and has actively
supported projects that enable Scottsbluff to create a more viable
economic development environment that attracts new people to the
area. Gordon has been named Citizen of the Year twice by the Star
Herald.
John Massey has
led several fundraising and volunteer campaigns throughout the
Scottsbluff/Gering communities, including both United Way and the
YMCA. John has worked tirelessly to help with projects that make
Scottsbluff/Gering a better place to live and raise a family. John
has helped with the new soccer complex and library and has served
as a board member for numerous organizations, including the Oregon
Trail Foundation, Regional West Medical Center Foundation, Twin
Cities Development, United Way, Rotary and the Scottsbluff/Gering
Chamber of Commerce. John and Gordon both believe that a quality
school is at the heart of every thriving community.
