Schools Supplies for Students

Even during these tough economic times, the people of the western Nebraska valley continue to pull together to help those in the community.  Stuff the Bus is an annual event hosted by The United Way of Western Nebraska.

Pictured left, Jeanna Allen with United Way presents the supplies to Dr. Gary Reynolds, Superintendent.  This year's event collected hundreds of items including pencils, pens, erasers, glue, rulers, notebooks, paper, book covers, calculators, notebooks and notebook paper, pencil cases, book bags, protractors, compasses, markers, crayons and countless other items.  The school supplies will be distributed to students in need throughout the district.  "The continued commitment of United Way to provide assistance to residents of Western Nebraska addresses the needs of many adults and children.  One of those needs is for school supplies for students whose parents cannot afford to purchase them.  United Way makes it possible for students to come to school with the materials they need to be successful", said Dr. Reynolds, Scottsbluff Public Schools District Superintendent.
